Homework

Homework will occur on a sporadic basis throughout the year.  If a student has not completed in class work such as assignments, reports, and labs, this work will need to be completed at home.  Students can check out science textbooks from the library for overnight use.

PROCEDURES

Entering and Leaving the room

When you are coming in or leaving, please do so quietly so you do not disturb other people. Always keep your hands and feet to yourself. You must be in your seat when the bell rings. Every day instructions will be on the overhead as you enter the room. Make sure to read and follow the instructions immediately. Then fill in your daily planner with the activities for the day. You will be dismissed when all garbage is picked up and supplies have been put away and accounted for.

Attention

If you need my attention for any reason, please raise your hand and wait to be called on. Do not walk up to me or shout out your question. This causes a disturbance in class. If I need your attention I will use the word FOCUS at which time you are to stop what you are doing and listen.

Make up work

It is the responsibility of the student to make-up work. The student is responsible for getting the work from the teacher.

The student must sign up for a time to make up tests, quizzes, etc. If the student misses the time s/he signed up for, the grade will be zero.

If a student is out for an extended period of time, more than 3 days, request your homework by calling the school. Please allow at least 24 hours for teachers to respond to your request.

Late Work

If possible make arrangements with the teacher before the due date. Late work is accepted for partial credit.

Hall pass

It is the student's responsibility to use the bathroom and get a drink between classes. Students may ask for permission and receive a hall pass during appropriate class time.

Movement

If you have permission to be out of your seat please do so quietly. Never sharpen a pencil during a discussion or lecture.

Finished

If you have completed an assignment in class and others are still working, please follow these steps:

1. Check your work to be sure it is the best you can do.

2. Turn the completed assignment into the In-box

3.Finish any other class work

4. Read a book or magazine. I have several you may borrow.
